This guide outlines the steps to safely open your AYANEO 3, disconnect the battery, and replace the internal SSD.

Before you start

  • Warning: Always ensure the device is powered off completely before starting disassembly.
  • Warning: Always disconnect the battery before working on internal components to prevent short-circuits.
  • Warning: Handle the battery with care; do not puncture or bend it.
  • Warning: Be cautious with ribbon cables and delicate connectors when opening the device.
  • Prerequisites:
  • Precision screwdriver set Plastic prying tools Anti-static mat Replacement M.2 2280 SSD (if upgrading) * Replacement battery (if replacing)

Steps

  1. Use a plastic prying tool to gently release the clips around the perimeter of the device, starting from the handle areas.
  1. Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and carefully pull it out to ensure no power reaches the components.
  1. Unscrew the M.2 retention screw and pull the SSD out from the slot at an angle.
